David Hurt is conservationist who owns and operates Truman Hill Farm in Franklin County, raising and marketing grass finished beef. David and his family were early proponents of land conservation, establishing one of the first Blue Ridge Land Conservancy easements. David has been an advocate for conservation and rural land with past service as BRLC’s first project manager, serving two terms on the Franklin County Board of Supervisors, three terms on the board of the Virginia Recreational Facilities Authority (Explore Park), and as past easement director for Conservation Partners, LLC. In addition to farming, David also runs Land Matters, LLC as a Realtor specializing in land and farms.
